The river rises near Amsterdam, Mpumalanga, South Africa and flows in an easterly direction through Swaziland where is enters the Lubumbo Mountains. The Lusutfu River runs through the towns of Bhunya, Loyengo, Siphofaneni and Big Bend. The Great Usutu River is the largest river in Swaziland and is known for white water rafting, and it is home to some golf courses, hotels and nature reserves.
